Who will Speak up For You?

Folks tell me that Eureka Residents won’t speak up for each other and that they tend to just keep to themselves when things are happening to others in their neighborhood or in their community. Popular Opinion seems to be that Eureka Residents have an attitude or “if it ain’t happening to me than I will just look the other way”.

I want to say this.

There are some in Eureka who are a bit “catty” as with any town. And there does seem to be a “local” click or certain circles that will CERTAINLY circle the wagons to protect one of their own, be it gender – same profession – family name – or political agenda.

However, whether it be Cattle Wars or some other long or short term feud – judgment or cases of pure snobbery, if your out of gas or have a flat in the dead of winter – you can count on those same folks to pick you up or to help you out however they can.

Eureka has a whole lot of good people, They Just do not have the Balls or the Backbone to Stand up for the Injustices that are done to others. It does not make those particular folks bad. They simply want to keep their nose down and protect their own.

However, if we all stand by and let bad things happen to good people in our community then the good people will end up leaving and all we will have is …..
